FAQs

  • Queer Therapy Boston offers telehealth services to clients anywhere in the state of Massachusetts. There are no in-person appointments available at this time.

  • Queer Therapy Boston does not currently accept any insurance plans. All services are provided on a private pay or out-of-network basis.

  • The feel for individual therapy is a sliding scale of $175 and the fee for couples/relationship/family therapy is a sliding scale of $200 per session.

  • Some insurance plans have what are called “out-of-network benefits”, meaning that they may reimburse you for some services you receive which are not directly covered by your insurance plan. Queer Therapy Boston provides clients with superbills, which enable clients to seek out-of-network reimbursement, if that is something their insurance company offers.

  • We offer surgery letter assessments, parent consultations, and hormone readiness assessments free of charge.

We also have a small number of pro-bono and reduced fee therapy spots open for people who cannot afford the full fee. Due to high demand, we may not have any immediately available openings, but you are welcome to provide us with your information, which we can keep on file for when openings become available.

  • Queer Therapy Boston currently offers appointments Monday through Friday, 8am - 8pm.

If these times don’t work for your schedule, you can request to be placed on our waiting list, in case other times become available in the future.

  • You can generally expect that your phone call or email will be returned within 2 business days.

After a brief confirmation that the logistics of the practice work for you (telehealth, payment situation, scheduling options), we will work with you to set up a free 15 minute consultation with a therapist to help you both determine if you are a good fit to work together.

If you decide to move forward with booking an appointment with them, they will put you in the schedule and send along the intake paperwork.

  • All clients are asked to keep a card on file with the practice, which will be billed the day of the session, after it has been completed.

  • Yes, we offer these services free of charge. You have the option to pay what you can, but no one is turned away for financial reasons when it comes to accessing these services.
